Beautiful Children

When the rain came
It fell in fat juicy droplets
I saw it coming from the hills
Like an angel embracing
The world

The rain came
With a joyous shout
It soothed me in my sleep
The rain came and
Enveloped my world

The rain fell
Softly at first, then with thunder
And the grass grew
It grew so fast
I had to wade through it

When the rain came
The maize shyly peeped
Curious to see the sky
Now, the maize dances
In the sun

Something happened
When the rain came
It impregnated the earth
And the earth, has
Given birth

What beautiful children!
